With much reluctance, almost some grief, I cancelled our summer trip to Greece in March for obvious reasons – the destructive power of an invisible enemy that led to drastic measures being imposed in the country.
Three months later, in June, I made the plan for a semi-roundtrip across Norway. It was a wonderful adventure filled with splendid landscape views, fascinating historical facts, dramatic street art, pouring rain, fierce wind, gentle sea breeze…
The Norwegian summer offers you so much more than sunny days and warm temperatures. It gives you a whole set of experiences.
That said, I must admit that the journey didn’t make me miss Greece less. I still long for the glorious sunsets and magnificent beaches on the Greek islands, dearly.
So, maybe next year…
Greece will still be there when you’re ready to retire. 😉

That’s exactly what I think, Brad! I’ve always thought about moving to Greece after retirement. Have a lovely weekend/summer!

Thanks Suzanne. Norway is known for its breathtaking fjord landscapes, well-preserved nature and magnificent Northern Light… Greece’s glorious sunsets and blue-turquoise Aegean Sea make me feel home – It’s coming home. You, too, take care ❤️

Beautiful sky and greens 😊💕 Here, we are not even allowed to go to street after 11 am due to Corona super spread here. Take care. Let’s hope and pray for the protection of all. Take care

Looks beautiful, Isabelle, I can see why you enjoyed it. An old friend of mine is in and from Norway and when she visited me in London many years ago she gave me a small book of stunning views of her country, and your own photos of it have the same atmosphere.

It’s the first time we took a roundtrip across Norway. A quite eye-opening experience. Very different to the summer trips we had on Greek and Canaria Islands. Lovely to hear about the small book you received from your friend!

Sorry to hear about your cancelled trip to Greece, BUT….WOW!! These photos are stunning! Seriously, I want to hop on a plane right now and do a nationwide tour of Norway. I love these photos. Great work, Isabelle!! Hope you guys are doing well, and staying sane during these insane times. 🙂

Oh thanks so much, Kevin!! Always, always lovely to hear from you. These are really magnificent landscapes, especially the famous “Preikestolen” (The Pulpit Rock). With my rather limited photographical skills, I only managed to catch a glimpse of the beauty of it. You could’ve done a much better job. It was a bit intimidating standing on the edge of the cliff trying to get a good shoot while the wind was blowing fiercely. Surely I didn’t want to make headlines with such a ridiculous death 🤣 We’re mostly sane but I really hope this nightmare will end soon. Sending good thoughts and best withes to you and your family. 😊✨

Oh so lovely to read your beautiful words, dearest Katy! Your enthusiasm and passion are infectious! We had a wonderful time travelling across the Norway. The landscapes were mind-blowing. The weather was shifting all the time with temperature dropping to 3 Celsius degrees at one of our last spots. We could clearly see the snow lying on the mountains. Will tell you more when we have a Skype call 😊 The street art is intriguing. There must be a story behind every piece of art I came across. I hope your summer has been filled with artistic inspiration and energy. You’re such a creative and gentle soul. Sending lots of love and millions of hugs. Catch up soon! 🎈❤️💕✨🌸☘️🥰

Greetings from the USA. I recall that you were in college, pursuing a degree in literature. Maybe I have the details wrong about that. Have you completed your studies and obtained a job? I hope that all is well with you and your family.

Thank you for the lovely note, and I’m delighted to hear from you. I completed my MA in English Language in November 2018, and now I’m working as a content writer and editor. I made a career shift from finance to language/writing. I loved it although a job in the field of finance is securer, especially during these uncertain times. I hope you and your family are well. Sending best wishes from the far north.
