The Aegean Sea

I went on a treasure hunt in the blue-turquoise Aegean Sea.

Neither for diamonds, nor for gold coins left by the pirates.

I longed to bring with me a cream white shell to my home in the far north.

The one that might’ve been journeying for thousands of years and then settled in The Aegean Sea.

Through the crystal clear water, I searched among countless pebbles in purple and grey.

The sea sparkled in the sunlight, and the waves moved gently in the summer breeze.

No shells in sight.

Sigh…

But who were these lovely creatures circling around and caressing my tired feet?

Deep down in the water, the tiny fish were playing hide and seek.

Oh dear fish, have you seen a lonely cream-white shell flowing through the waves? The one that longs for a home in the far north…

    1. I found a few pebbles in rare colours and brought them with me back to Norway. The journey is a treasure in itself – the images of sunsets and sea views, the kindness and hospitality the locals showed me will always be remembered and cherished.     1. Thanks Katy, for your kind words! We hired a car and had a round trip in the island. This was a hidden gem, a little beach with few people. Very quiet. We spent a few hours there, having a light lunch and searching for the treasures in the water 😊🦋💫 Sending you warm hugs and lots of love! ❤️🌸

    1. Thanks, Val. A dear friend who I got to know through blogging sent me some beautiful white shells from an island in the U.S, where she lives. I was touched and overwhelmed by her kindness and compassion. I still am and will always be.
